About Us

Welcome to the Foundation for Societal Empowerment and Rejuvenation (FOSER), a beacon of hope and change in Northern Nigeria. Established in 2014, FOSER is an independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to revitalizing communities through active civic engagement and socio-economic development.

What we do

FOSER's mission is to empower individuals and communities through education on civic rights, advocacy for social justice, and proactive engagement. We aim to reduce instances of police brutality, promote awareness of civic responsibilities, and instill a sense of agency within every community member. By focusing on the youth, we harness their potential to drive meaningful change and inspire others.
  • Community Empowerment: We engage in grassroots initiatives that empower local communities, particularly women and youth, to take charge of their development. Our programs are designed to enhance skills, provide resources, and create opportunities for economic and social advancement.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: We champion the rights of marginalized groups and advocate for policies that promote gender equality, human rights, and social justice. Through campaigns and awareness programs, we work to shift societal attitudes and influence positive change.
  • Educational Programs: Education is at the heart of our work. We establish school clubs, provide training, and develop educational materials that promote gender equality, safeguard human rights, and prevent gender-based violence (GBV).
  • Climate Action: FOSER is committed to addressing climate change through sustainable practices and advocacy. We implement projects that build community resilience, promote environmental conservation, and ensure sustainable agricultural practices.

Our vision is a transformed society where every individual, regardless of gender, socio-economic status, or geographic location, has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from a just, equitable, and prosperous community. We envision a future where communities are self-reliant, informed, and actively engaged in the processes that shape their lives.

At FOSER, our mission is to awaken responsible community involvement in governance, encourage civil activism, and promote sustainable development. We strive to empower marginalized communities, foster gender equality, and enhance the overall well-being of individuals through innovative programs and strategic partnerships.
